Spotlight on Rights

Since its 2009 launch, our Spotlight on Rights programme has supported the translation of content from and into Arabic, with grants awarded for new translation rights deals. In 2020, the programme has started subsidising conversion into eBooks and Audiobooks.

To date, the Spotlight on Rights Programme has contributed to the publication of over 600 titles across a diverse range of fields, including science, history, social sciences and children’s literature, to name a few.

Applications may be submitted for any eligible book, where licensing discussions take place at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.

300 Grants will be given this year for the 2022 edition of the Spotlight on Rights grants programme, as it aims to support the publishing industry during these critical times.
